Therapy Tape
Relieve Pain and Swelling,
Reduce Scars,
Minimize Bruising
Therapy Tape was developed by Dr Kenzo Kase in Japan over 25 years ago, and made popular through it’s use by Tour De France cyclists, and Olympic Athletes. Therapists are continually discovering new uses for the tape.
Popularity of Therapy Tape has exploded, and is sold under a variety of names; Kinesio Tape, Rock Tape, Elastic Sports Tape, Physio Tape, and KT Tape, just to name a few.
The tape is made of natural cotton, vegetable dye, and non-latex adhesive. Wavelike patterns of the adhesive resemble a fingerprint. The light fabric freely moves with the skin creating a comforting sensation.
Although the tape is extensively used for athletic purposes, there are special techniques in application that will specifically stimulate the Lymphatic system.
Therapy Tape acts as a mechanical pump to the lymphatic vessels, moving fluids and damaged cells, away from the area to facilitate healing.
A bruise is a lot of dead and broken red blood cells in one area.
Following liposuction, this patient experienced severe bruising. You can see where the tape was applied and removed several days later, showing the direct result of the “clean up” effect of the tape.
The powerful effect of the tape may be used for pain relief, to reduce swelling, minimize bruising, and assist detoxification for those on a cleansing program.
Applied tape is active for up to five days. You can swim and shower without disturbing the tape’s effectiveness.
Clients experience relief from pain and swelling when the tape is used in conjunction with Lymphatic Drainage Therapy.
